Sophia "Mom, I have something to tell you. I have decided that I am going to become Catholic. I really want to light the candles. If Bishop Ainge or Bishop White will put candles in our church, then I will be Mormon. But if not, I am going to be Catholic."
Annelise (from the back seat, while helping me make a very tight turn) "Oh mom, you don't have to worry about the car over on this side. It already has some scratches on it."
Ezra (after watching me pay a $50 toll in Spain) "My favorite part of driving on the roads is paying the money to the people. When I grow up, I am going to be the man who takes all of the money. Then I will have lots of money!"
Sophia (In Siena's Duomo) "Can I please, please, please have a coin to light the candles?"
Me "These candles are only for Catholics to light."
Sophia "Well, where are the Mormon candles?"
Me "Okay. What did we learn about the Vatican? Who can tell me which Roman Emperor began the process of building it?"
Sophia "Hmmmmm . . . Andrew Jackson?"
Sophia "Look! We are above the clouds!"
Ezra "Wow! We are in outerspace!"
Sophia "No, Ezra, technically we are in heaven!"
Annelise "Oh Mom look! It's security. I love going through security!"

Sounds like you guys had a great time in Washington DC! I have always wanted to see it while the cherry blossoms are in bloom, that must have been amazing.
What beautiful, artistic photographs! I especially like the photo of the soldier at Arlington, with the sharp diagonal gun, and the photo of the children at the Washington Monument, with the spire coming down the center of the picture, but assymetrical sides. And what fun places you visited! Love, Mom
Once again, your posts never fail to entertain. Tanner and I are checking them out together and it reminds us of our trip there forever ago. We loved the Portrait Gallery and Arlington is so compelling.
