A Mother's Request

Little Mia you have an entire lifetime to be big and strong. Please let us hold you close a little longer before you move on.

Sophia "Mom, I have something to tell you. I have decided that I am going to become Catholic. I really want to light the candles. If Bishop Ainge or Bishop White will put candles in our church, then I will be Mormon. But if not, I am going to be Catholic."
Annelise (from the back seat, while helping me make a very tight turn) "Oh mom, you don't have to worry about the car over on this side. It already has some scratches on it."
Ezra (after watching me pay a $50 toll in Spain) "My favorite part of driving on the roads is paying the money to the people. When I grow up, I am going to be the man who takes all of the money. Then I will have lots of money!"
Sophia (In Siena's Duomo) "Can I please, please, please have a coin to light the candles?"
Me "These candles are only for Catholics to light."
Sophia "Well, where are the Mormon candles?"
Me "Okay. What did we learn about the Vatican? Who can tell me which Roman Emperor began the process of building it?"
Sophia "Hmmmmm . . . Andrew Jackson?"
Sophia "Look! We are above the clouds!"
Ezra "Wow! We are in outerspace!"
Sophia "No, Ezra, technically we are in heaven!"
Annelise "Oh Mom look! It's security. I love going through security!"

Thank you, thank you for the pictures of Miriam - she has grown so much, I need to hold her - come to Utah for a visit. Love you
Goodness, she has gotten so big from your last pictures! I love that she has kept all of her dark hair. Gracie has lost most of hers... Also, love her big eyes! She is beautiful and I need to hug her.... So I hope you all come out for Christmas!!!!!
Now this is what we've been waiting for! Camille, the picture of you holding her is priceless. I think she looks so sweet! This is a plea or more baby posts! We're so disappointed we haven't been able to meet her yet, but understand why we didn't get a summer visit from you. Hope your having a fun New England summer!
How fun to see Miriam/Mia now that she's old enough to have her own, distinctive "look." What a pretty little girl! Love, Mom
