Hail Highland High

This August Steve will be heading back to Salt Lake for his twenty year high school reunion at Highland High. In commemoration of the event, Sophia skillfully carved a double H on the side of our black car with a rock.

Way to help Dad celebrate!
(This incident alone entitles us to be upgraded to "seasoned parent" status!)

This event actually takes us back six years to when Jonathan was two. Our car was only a few months old, the new car smell still lingering. Steve went outside to find Jonathan whacking the side of the car with a play sword. Although it was plastic, it was still sharp. Steve caught the sword in mid-air before Jonathan could slice another silver streak down the new paint. Exasperated, Steve demanded to know what Jonathan was doing. Jonathan's explanation was simply that the car was a black dragon and he was a brave knight. (Unknowingly, he was also in the midst of preparing us for his his sister's mischievous carving deeds years later.)

Hey Camille, I deal with a lot of shaky internet connections and don't usually get a chance to comment on your blog, but I just want to say that I think it's awesome. The blog looks just as tasteful as all your scrapbooks and interior design in your houses, etc. etc. The bits of large text help out big time.
